My Senior Project is to make a feature length documentary film about Proctor Academy Choir's trip around China. I was lucky enough to be a part of this trip, now my job is to go through the nearly 24 hours of footage and 4,000 photos to create a documentary film, a preview to show in assembly, and a DVD. Follow my blog to learn about the process I go through from day to day.

May 10, 2011 - Minor Delays for Detail
Today, I got a little too excited with how the film looked, and couldn't move any further until I made what I have look good. I still have not done too much as far as sound, but I made the flow of the film smoother and easier to follow. I logged a solid 5 hours today, and hope to get around the same tomorrow, although it is a Wednesday. Today I did not procrastinate at all, and got down to business at 8:08, and went non-stop until 10:30, which is when I went to my E block class. I edited more during D block, had my lunch, and was back and editing by 1:10. I finished up my day at 2:30, and I feel confident and content with what I have so far. I still have 25 minutes according to the timecode, I have just filled in a lot of the empty spaces, so I have closer to 25 legitimate minutes of footage, whereas yesterday I had around 7 minutes of empty spaces. Tomorrow I work on editing Day 2, and part of Day 3. Day 2 has a concert, so that will be done when the music is done getting mixed. And Day 3 was the Great Wall excursion which is already done. Stay tuned for more on how the film has progressed.

I can't wait to see what you put together, Brian. How fun to get to revisit those places! Sounds like you are off to a great start.
ReplyDeleteBrian, as usual!! I'm very excited about everything you're doing. You rock and I know we'll see your name in lights someday.... Good job!!
ReplyDeleteYou work much harder in the lab than many of my students! Wish they had your work ethic. Can't wait to see the finished project.
ReplyDeleteHey Brian,
ReplyDeleteDoes my heart good to hear your appreciation for solid organization. Then again you were always pretty organized. Wow, a feature length film - sounds ambitious. I suspect your work on your project is being balanced with your time on the play and I hope with Ensemble, as well. We missed you yesterday but made significant progress on "Feeling Good." All the best with your work and your balancing act. I look forward to hearing more and seeing the final product.
